　　[[2003年]]01月13日[[中華職棒聯盟]]與[[台灣大聯盟]]合併為[[中華職業棒球大聯盟]]；同年3月1日，合併後的[[中華職棒大聯盟開幕戰]]登場，由[[中信鯨隊]]出戰[[兄弟象隊]]，台灣職棒界自[[1997年]]至[[2002年]]持續六年之久的兩聯盟時代正式走入歷史，另一個嶄新的時代則由此揭開序幕。
